Slow Tasting Dinner at The Moorings in Portmagee on December 1st 2007
Well renowned for the use of local quality foods, making particular use of the fresh seafood on its doorstep, The Moorings has received numerous awards over the years. They now have a small artisan food and craft delicatessen adjacent to their guesthouse and restaurant.
The tasting menu will be accompanied with matching wines provided by Febvre, there will be a quiz, some “home grown” entertainment and a thoroughly enjoyable evening is anticipated. The tutored tasting will include information on the work of Slow Food internationally, with emphasis on small producers both in the wine and the food worlds.

Tickets for this dinner are available through The Moorings directly at 066 9477108 and through www.moorings.ie The cost is €70 for non-members and €60 for members.

October
Dingle Food and Wine Festival

There will be a new food and wine festival in Dingle, which will take place from the 12th-14th October this year and in May on subsequent years. The festival will comprise of tasting menus in all the restaurants highlighting local produce, a gourmet food trail in Dingle shops (i.e. champagne and oysters in an art gallery, etc), cookery demonstrations in St. James' Church, and an Irish cheese pavilion in the Diseart with lectures on wine from sommeliers and vineyard owners. Even the local cinema will show food films (Babette's feast, etc).

We want to hear from Slow Foodies who would be willing to support the festival with any help regarding publicity and a list of members for the food trail. We'd love to pair Slow Food producers and products and local shops as part of that trail

www.dinglefood.com is the special site set up for the event for people who want more details.
